A note on our material, and care of your stands:

BigBandStands music desks are manufactured from a lightweight plastic known as twin walled polypropylene. Our Twin Wall material is manufactured just for us, especially for the job, and whilst it is thin, it is the hardest grade available, with the most inner flutes. This means you can be sure it is not only lightweight, but durable, and will support any size pad you choose without bowing or falling. We are confident that this material, together with our professional manufacture and design features has given BigBandStands a reputation for supplying the very best quality music desks available, anywhere.

We prefer to use recycled plastic, so there can occasionally be slight variances in the shades of the material. These variances might be visible close up but not from several feet away.

It’s also worth understanding that black material can mark if the surface is knocked or scraped with a rough or sharp object. Scratches or ‘bruises’ show up white  on the black surface, and these can not be removed. White stands can scratch and bruise too of course, but as the damage caused shows up white, it’s rarely visible to the naked eye.

Cleaning: All the non printed areas of your stands can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth  - preferably microfibre as this will lift surface dirt easily. However if they are really grubby, use a very dilute gentle detergent.

Never use detergent of any kind on graphic areas as this may lift the colour.

Take good care of your stands and they will look amazing for years to come.

“Fed up of carrying heavy cumbersome stands to & from gigs, I designed & made some lightweight prototypes by hand.
I tested them with many kinds of bands and music professionals, listening to what they wanted, then refined the design to suit their needs.

My wife and business partner Lorraine took over the logistics, and found a top manufacturer of twin walled fluted polypropylene, who helped me identify very best quality materials that allow the stands to fold flat, but remain super stable in use.
